I photographed a demo event for Microsoft’s Hololens product at the MTC. Hololens is an incredibly interesting mixed reality solution for businesses. It allows you to view your workspace with an augmented reality aspect that can be used for training, problem solving and improving productivity and accuracy. It essentially gives your company the ability to show the wearer what they need to do and how they need to do it in a real time, immersive and instinctive way. Seeing the device in action, it was obvious what a game changer it would be for the manufacturing sector in particular. I imagine in 10 years time you will be hard pressed to find a factory that isn’t using mixed reality to aid their processes in one way or another.
Shooting the event was certainly interesting, providing many beautiful opportunities for unique imagery. It was clear from the delegates reactions that it was intuitive and provided some incredibly powerful tools. I enjoyed capturing them using the devices in a factory environment. I think it made for some really beautiful photographs. Here are just a few of my favourites from the event.
